rocks against cancer video shoot

Some stills from a very special personal project: our weekend video shoot for Rocks Against Cancer, a fundraiser presented by the Farber Center for Radiation Oncology. I was humbled by the amazing show of support from all my friends and colleagues who came together for such an important cause. Huge thanks to everyone who donated their talent and pulled their favors — and a special call out to Donna Grossman Casting, Canoe Studios, Sylvia Grieser, and Industrial Color, without whom this project would have been impossible. This one is dedicated to my dear friend Erik Jorde, who is winning the fight right now.
here’s to summer beauty

A new editorial story with my favorite kind of beauty – fresh, simple, and on the beach.

Ok, this might be my favorite behind-the-scenes shot. There are far worse ways to spend your day then standing waist deep in cool water.

Just out – a shoot for John Frieda in this month’s InStyle Magazine.
miami is stranger than paradise

Shooting a men’s fragrance campaign on the bay in 30 mph gusts was a bit challenging, but the crazy winds blew in beautiful puffy clouds and the kiteboarders brought us ample distraction. And our Argentinian model Gustavo took my mind off the weather as well.
sun and fun in malibu

Last week in Malibu we had four days of ridiculous weather for shooting a new summer beauty campaign for Walmart. I think the mood of the shoot is expressed perfectly here by my lovely models – Wylie, Sarah, and Mark from the Martin agency. We also got to shoot a short video — edit to follow shortly. Santiago you were right - I am a 5D convert!
the girls at selfridges

Very exciting stuff – my London agent, Andrea Blood, one half of the art duo The Girls, will be artist-in-residence at Selfridges’ Ultralounge for the month of April. The project is entitled The Paper Eaters: Long Live the Photo-Story! and will be an evolving performance through the 29th. Can’t wait to see Andrea in action.
first signs of spring

Just released — new spring campaigns for Cyzone.
weekend in paris
Just back from a long weekend in Paris — France is where I lived when I was just beginning my photography career, so every once in a while I make a pilgrimage to get reinspired. The recipe: wander aimlessly (everywhere), window shop (Colette), eat decadently (Le Pré Catelan), listen to music (Caveau de la Huchette), and live a moment of luxury the French way (Hôtel de Crillon). To see my happy snaps, click .
a new restaurant in cape town
On a side note — my husband and I recently entered into collaboration with a tremendous chef and very old friend, Cheyne Morrisby, in the establishment of a new boutique restaurant, Cheyne’s, in Cape Town, South Africa. If you happen to be in town for the World Cup, please stop by…
the new ALLI website

ALLI launches a newly redesigned website with a series of lighthearted images.
clinique’s fresh faces

Behind the scenes at the shoot for the Clinique Fresh Faces. The winners – Monica, Eartha, and Misha – were disarmingly sweet, and a delight to have on set. Plus, the camera loved them all – see their shoot in Teen Vogue April 2010.
the wish list
Just finished shooting/editing a short for the design house Felissimo for their holiday pop-up exhibition JAPAN BRAND: The Wish List. 20 kids, a dad and a dog in one day – I loved it!
real beauty for fall

Some clean, fresh beauty in studio, this for an ongoing campaign for Walmart.

Congratulations to German Instyle, celebrating their 10 year anniversary with their October 2009 issue, featuring a fashion story with Poppy Delevigne in New York.
st ives in the rain

Rain and dreary weather taxed our shoot, but we still managed (see dedicated crew above) to pull off some surprisingly sunny shots for St Ives.
lost weekend no.6
Very excited about this new short I just shot showcasing No.6 Store. Thanks again to the A-team: AD Marilyn Kam, DP Mike Harlow, stylist Karin Bereson, makeup Julie Tomlinson, hair Angela Soto, production Nikita Romanoff and Gavin Stevens, model Stephania (and Roberta Boltin for the scenic location).
